How the negative effects of the Law of Attraction vice versa?

My stepfather was my husband and I watch "the secret" the film on the Law of Attraction. I think it had the opposite effect, it takes on people. Now my husband says he has everything wants, it should, but they are not coming to him. But he still wants to move things that we have no money. I really try to be positive things. But all this is bad for us in the past week that passes, I feel like it is to keep getting worse. What can I do to stop this spiral?
